MY FIRST VIRTUAL MACHINE
- Oracle virtual box(https://www.virtualbox.org/)
- ubuntu ISO file(https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop)
Steps to be Followed are as follows
- Download and install oracle virtual box from the above given link and download any ISO file that you want to add as virtual machine in my case I chose ubuntu OS
- After installation open virtual box and click on new button and name your virtual machine accordingly and choose appropriate type according to the ISO file you have chosen in my case it is linux and version is ubuntu(64bit)
3.Next allocate memory size according to your convenience, The type of hard disk depends on whether you use VirtualBox with other VM software. For now, we can leave this as a VDI.
4. Then you can choose whether the hard disk is dynamically allocated (up to the limit we will set on the next screen), filling up as the VM requires it. Otherwise, we can tell it to allocate the full amount of memory right from the start. This will improve performance but may take up unnecessary space. We’ll leave it as dynamically allocated for this tutorial.
5. Now initialize the the virtual machine
6. Click Start to launch the virtual machine. You will be prompted to select the start-up disk. Use the file icon to open the Optical disc selector and click Add to find your .iso file
7. After adding required .iso file remaining steps involve all typical steps that are required for an OS installation follow through all the steps as prompted and wait for few minutes for the OS to get installed.
